Welcome Dr. Josh Martin, Our New Medical Advisor

We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Josh Martin to the Little Boosties family as our Medical Advisor.

Dr. Martin is a board-certified pediatrician with nearly 20 years of clinical experience, during which he has cared for thousands of children and families. He practices full time in North Carolina, where he lives with his wife and two young boys. Over the years, he has seen almost every kind of challenge families face—from everyday worries to the new and evolving health issues shaping childhood today.

Many brands rely on medical advisors who rarely see patients or no longer practice at all. Having an actively practicing pediatrician on our team makes a real difference. Dr. Martin’s daily work with families gives him a clear view of what parents are facing, how children’s health is changing, and what new pressures shape kids’ lives. His ongoing clinical experience keeps his perspective grounded in real life and in the realities of modern childhood.

In his role with Little Boosties, Dr. Martin will lend his expertise to product formulations and reformulations, bringing a critical pediatric perspective to every decision we make. He’ll also help interpret new health information for parents, share practical insights through Q&As and blog posts, and guide how we communicate science and safety in ways that truly serve families.

Below, get to know Dr. Josh in his own words:

What inspired you to dedicate your career to children’s health?
Every day with children and their parents is an opportunity to make a difference. I never really chose pediatrics- pediatrics chose me. Kids and I just connect in a way that feels natural and wordless.

Has being a dad changed how you practice medicine?
Absolutely. Before kids, I thought I had it all figured out. Then I became a parent and realized - raising kids is really hard. It humbled me and made me more compassionate toward the families I see every day.

What keeps you motivated every day?
Each day is a series of small choices. If I focus on doing the next right thing and staying present, the rest takes care of itself.

What do you wish parents would focus on more?
Teaching intention through process- how to pack a lunch, get ready for school, solve small problems. Kids learn by watching how we move through daily life.

What do you wish parents would worry less about?
That their kids will never experience pain or disappointment. Struggle and failure are part of growing up. When we try to remove those experiences, we rob kids of the chance to build resilience.

What small daily change makes the biggest difference for kids’ health?
Movement. After school, before dinner, just let them play or do something they love that gets their body moving. It’s simple but powerful.

What changes in kids’ health have surprised you most?
The decline in smoking among teens is incredible- when I was growing up, everyone knew a smoker. Today’s kids also seem more comfortable expressing themselves through art and creativity, and that gives me hope.

What’s the biggest health challenge facing kids today?
Social media. It’s nearly impossible for kids to exist in the moment when every photo or caption is subject to judgment. The constant pressure to perform and compare is deeply harmful to developing minds.

What question do parents ask you most?
“What should I do?” My advice: listen to your heart. There are endless opinions online, but none of those people know your child like you do.

What have your patients or kids taught you?
Never underestimate children. They’re far more observant and emotionally intelligent than we give them credit for.

Who inspires you?
A mystic named Lotan Baba, who once spent seven years standing under a tree in meditation. His discipline and ability to “just be” remind me how distracted our lives have become.

Why did you decide to join Little Boosties?
It’s rare to find a company that refuses to cut corners. The team poured real care into creating a product that supports kids’ health with integrity- and I’m grateful to share what I’ve learned as a doctor and a dad.
